About the event
Mike Powell and Matt Hart have a lifelong affinity with Gloucestershire, the River Severn and its heritage fisheries. Benefitting from generations of experience and a lifetime on (and in!) the river, Mike is one of the few remaining lave net fisherman of the Severn, where salmon and shrimp (amongst other species) are the quarry. Armed with a similar CV, (and a lave net fisherman serving his apprentiship), Matt's time has mainly been spent in pursuit of the elusive eel and elver.
In "Tales from the Riverbank", Mike and Matt aka " the alternative Severn Bores" will open the door on the secretive world of the heritage fisheries of the Severn, sharing fishing methods, folklore, and importantly, what the future holds.
COST: Free for Members or £5 on the door for non-members (or join us on the night).
